The twist there just seemed a little too much. However, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending. I actually screamed in the car when one particular truth was revealed. Fans of the author will have to wait patiently while. ![]() I was at the edge of my seat for a few of them. This highly anticipated book is a sequel to two popular fantasy series. I didn't quite feel as invested in the characters as I wanted to be, and I was a lot more interested in Siri's plotline than Vivenna's, so the unbalance there was very real and kind of frustrating. There were some AWESOME twists and turns in this book. 3/5: This was definitely an interesting world and I definitely want to learn more about the different countries and their relations, as well as the magic system and the different ways it can be used. It was a long, yet enthralling audiobook that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I thought the narrator was just perfect and I really enjoyed her portrayal of the characters. And thus he sets in motion a series of events that could lead to the downfall of his entire people. When the time comes and their father has to send his firstborn daughter, he decides to send the other one in her stead. The other, the least favourite of the children, the cheeky and defiant one. Two sisters, one of whom destined to marry the God-King and carry his child. ![]()
